Hellfire Pass awarded 2025 Travelors’ Choice Award from Tripadvisor

The Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre is named a recipient of the 2025 Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Award, an honor based on consistently positive feedback from visitors. This recognition reflects the meaningful experiences shared by those who have visited the site throughout the year.

Tripadvisor, one of the world’s leading travel guidance platforms, presents the award to establishments that regularly receive high ratings and place in the top 10% of listings worldwide. With over 12.46 million businesses on the platform and more than 31 million reviews from travelers, this distinction is both humbling and encouraging.

Visitors to the Centre often speak of the emotional impact and historical significance of their time at Hellfire Pass. Many have also highlighted the Anzac Day Dawn Service, describing it as a powerful and respectful tribute. One reviewer wrote, “Hellfire Pass should be on anyone’s bucket list who have served, along with Gallipoli and France,” reflecting the profound connection many feel with the site.

Another visitor from the United States shared, “A very eye-opening and emotional experience. Highly recommended!”—one of many heartfelt reflections that have contributed to this recognition.

The Centre has been grateful to receive the Travelers’ Choice Award annually since 2012. This continued acknowledgement is a testament to the dedication of our staff and the significance of preserving the memory of those who served along the Burma-Thai Railway.

The Anzac Day Dawn Service will be held at Hellfire Pass on Saturday, 25 April 2026.

This annual commemoration offers a powerful moment of remembrance for the men and women who served and sacrificed, particularly those who endured the hardships of the Thai–Burma Railway during the Second World War.

Gathered in the quiet of dawn, visitors will reflect on the enduring Anzac spirit of courage, resilience, and mateship. The location of Hellfire Pass, itself a place of extraordinary history and sacrifice, makes this service a deeply moving experience.

Further information, including the program and attendance details, will be announced in the coming months.

We encourage all who wish to honour this day of remembrance to join us.

Lest we forget.
